This is no different than half of Detroit. The whole city has gone to waste mostly. Dilapidated buildings flood the whole area. This is what happens when you mix poverty and a lack of pride together; one could argue the later is a direct result of poverty. Take a stroll down Robinwood, Hollywood and Brentwood off of Woodward after picking up some Dutch Girls (best doughnuts around). Detroit does have some very nice pockets throughout the city and not just Indian Village, English Village, Boston Edison or Palmer Park. I'm hopeful the city can revive itself, but it starts with the people who reside there.

Michael, it was taken with a small point and shoot camera (Samsung NV15). I shot 3 exposures, one regular, one over-exposed and one under-exposed and blended with with a program called PhotoMatix

My great-grandfather and great-grandmother and great uncle are lovingly buried in the Trinity Cemetery. There were good people and their church takes as best care of the grounds as possible. I actually came up there and opened that Krispy Krunchy location last year. I didn't get the feeling that it was any worse than some of the areas in Los Angeles, or Birmingham. The main blight on this area is indeed the old Packard Plant. That whole area needs to be leveled and allowed to reforest.

You are a sick MF'er The Ice cream truck known as Uncle Ron tha drives he streets around our home is the one in your picture. The man is NOT anyone of the things you say he looks like. He happens to be a substitute teacher and the kids all know him and say hes a good guy.
It's pretty disgusting that you would make comments about a person about which you know nothing about.

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO READ THIS AND HAVE ANY DOUBTS ABOUT THE BEST ICE CREAM MAN YOU COULD MEET, PLEASE READ: this man is a substitute teacher as well as an ice cream man after hours and in the summer. a long, well known, respected man in our community. he has lived and worked in our community his entire life here and is loved by all who know him. he is a dedicated worker in both jobs he performs. children love him. parents love him. his peers and co-workers love him. he is a trustworthy person and if anyone had simply five minutes with him, you would discover this. he is the perfect example in not to judge a person by the way they look. he may indeed own a Harley. so what.( Harley's ARE cool)! what???? if you look a certain way YOU MUST BE BAD? you must be a drug dealer? a rapist? what if he had long hair??????? (check out the author). it takes all kinds to make the world go 'round and i kinda liked having an ice cream man that was as cool and different as he was. HE is extremely intelligent and always offering up something to make your day.....and to so many. we could all only be so lucky......he has set examples on how ONE should be. hardworking, honest, loving, and a contributing factor to our declining moral society.
